Meia Volta à Ilha

The itinerary goes through the northern part of Ilha Grande, where we can find calm waters without waves, ideal for children.

LAGOA VERDE

Located close to Enseada de Araçatiba is Lagoa Verde, with its calm and green waters, ideal for snorkeling with abundant marine fauna and a place of green corals that give the name to Lagoa, one of the most sought after natural spots by tourists.

LAGOA AZUL

In summer its waters are bluish, which makes it one of the favorite places for tourists from all over the world, marine fauna is also abundant, making Lagoa Azul an ideal spot for snorkeling and diving, its name comes from the famous film of the 80s, with actress Brooke Schields.

Lagoa Azul is located in the Freguesia de Santana region, and close by are some of the many beaches on Ilha Grande, such as Grumixama, Praia da Baleia, Ilha dos Macacos, Freguesia do Sul and de Fora.

PRAIA DO AMOR

It is one of the many beaches located in Saco do Céu, has a tiny stretch of sand, is ideal for watching the starfish without waves and the legend tells that couples who jump hand in hand never part.

PRAIA DA CAMIRANGA 

With clear, greenish waters and a small river that flows into the sea and has the same name, tourists can enjoy the warm waters of the sea and the cold water of the stream, in addition to having a good strip of sand.

SuperSul

The route goes through the southern part of Ilha Grande, it is open sea, which is why it depends on the navigation conditions (tide, winds, etc ...), dolphins and whales can be seen.

ILHA DE JORGE GREGO

Jorge Grego Island is located close to Dois Rios Beach, a place with crystal clear waters, ideal for snorkeling and diving and its name comes from the legend of the pirate that gives the name to the island, which sailed towards the Strait of Magellan when his ship sank and he by boat managed to get there with his two daughters and a helper, where they survived. Elected as one of the best diving spots in the Costa Verde region.

DOIS RIOS

Former Agricultural Penal Colony, beach where the famous Presidio Cândido Mendes was located, one of the most beautiful beaches on Ilha Grande, which is undoubtedly worth visiting, whose name is due to the meeting of two rivers, one at each end from beach.

A place of many stories, it was an exclusive village for prison officials and their families, good behavior inmates worked during the day in abundant fishing, in the maintenance of streets and houses, in the stable where pigs, rabbits, cattle, horses were raised , etc ..., in the vegetable garden with vegetable and vegetable plantations, it had a structure very organized by the State with a school, a medical clinic, the post office, a power generating plant for Vila and Presídio, and expanded to Vila do Abraão.

The village of Dois Rios also has a beautiful waterfall called Mãe D’água, where today it is forbidden to visit.

The visitor can also visit the Museu do Cárcere, where the relics of the old Presidio can be seen.

CAXADAÇO

The beach is only 15 meters long, with crystal clear waters and fine sand with golden tones, ideal for snorkeling, where the turtles that inhabit the place can be observed.

Today's visitor does not imagine that the beach has already been populated by about 15 families, fishermen and employees of the Presidio of Dois Rios.

As the ancient natives tell us, the “spy” stone served as an observation point for slaves and pirates who could see boats approaching, nowadays today tourists use it as a diving point.

LOPES MENDES

Considered one of the most beautiful beaches in Brazil, if not the world, with almost 3 km long with white sand, ideal for surfing, it is one of the most visited on Ilha Grande.

Lopes Mendes had one of the biggest farms on Ilha Grande, which worked until the 80s, due to the activity of the Presidio of Dois Rios, there lived a German named Peter who even had the habit of collecting exotic animals that's why the alligators econtrandos today and star tamarins, obviously animals that are not in their habitat.

Today in Lopes Mendes it is still possible to see the ruins of the small Chapel of Nossa Sehora de Santana.

Volta à Ilha

CAXADAÇO

PARNAIOCA

Also located in the southern part of Ilha Grande, with just over 1 km, with white sands and crystalline waters, considered one of the most beautiful beaches on Ilha Grande, and yet one has a river on its right end, with waters coming from a waterfall.

Parnaioca became one of the most inhabited villages on Ilha Grande with more than 1,000 residents, today there are very few which makes the place very peaceful.

You can also visit the old Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, in addition to the ruins of its old farms and the village that existed.

AVENTUREIRO

With its crystal clear waters and about 500 meters of beach, Aventureiro receives many tourists throughout the year, including surfers, it is one of the most popular beaches for tourists visiting the island.

With the rich marine life, it is great for diving and snorkeling, there are also two viewpoints, the one of Espia which is to the left of those who arrive by the pier and the one of Sundara which takes approximately 20 minutes of walk.

The famous beach of the coconut palm, houses a village with about a little over 100 residents with a small structure that caters to tourists who visit it.

In 1990 the Maritime State Park of the Adventurer was created, so visitors who want to spend the night on the beach must ask TURISANGRA for a license.

 MEROS

With a very white sand, crystal clear waters, the beach is small, but beautiful, ideal for snorkeling and diving. It has a very rich marine life, it is located at the southwest end of the island, it is common to form dunes in the sand.

Traces of civilizations that populated the island more than 3,000 years ago, the sharks can be seen on it.

Ilhas Paradisíacas

PRAIA DO DENTISTA

Located on Ilha da Gipoia, one of the 365 islands of Angra dos Reis, Jurubaíba beach (in Tupi-Guarani means Barra Perigosa), better known as Praia do Dentista, has this “nickname” because of a dentist named Olympio Faissol there have had a home.

ILHAS BOTINAS

Similar, almost twin, the boots are two beautiful islands, without a beach, ideal for snorkeling, with an intense marine life and crystal clear waters that do not have much depth, but some points can be more than 10 meters.

ILHA DE CATAGUASES

Ideal for diving and snorkeling, the island is very close to the mainland, 10 minutes by boat to Angra dos Reis, but it is worth knowing, with shallow and crystal clear waters and very active marina life, which is very popular with tourists, with a strip of water. sand practically around it is great for swimming.
